About The Position
The Showroom Sales Assistant supports daily showroom operations and the sales team while providing clients with product information and attentive customer service. The role maintains sample inventory and showroom materials, fulfills client sample requests, helps keep the showroom floor current, and supports general showroom projects. It also includes in-person sample delivery to clients and assisting visitors in the showroom and over the phone. The position calls for continued learning about interior design and Schumacher collections, and for upholding the company’s high product and service standards in the luxury market.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience working in a retail or showroom environment.
- Ability to multitask and be proactive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 20–50 pounds maximum.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the luxury interior design industry.
- Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Proficiency in MS Windows and Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Comfort traveling throughout Manhattan by public transit and walking; a car is not required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain sample room inventory by ordering samples and filing replenishments.
- Handle client sample requests over the phone, by email, and in person.
- Gather and ship samples to clients in support of the sales team.
- Maintain the showroom floor by hanging new products and removing discontinued products as needed.
- Maintain showroom collateral, including marketing materials, shopping bags, and supplies.
- Support general showroom requests and projects.
- Deliver samples in person to strengthen client relationships.
- Assist clients over the phone and on the showroom floor by providing guidance and product information as needed.
- Provide customer service that supports Schumacher’s mission and luxury-market product and service standards.
- Continue expanding working knowledge of interior design and current Schumacher collections.
