The Shop Service Technician III is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes and maintaining a high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry. The technician must maintain a necessary set of tools for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The role also involves working in a neat and orderly fashion, seeking improvements in work methods, work areas, and safety standards, and inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control. Documentation of repairs and accounting for repair times using appropriate software is essential. The technician must monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and inform the supervisor of any cost overruns prior to job completion. A positive approach to work, supportive conduct towards the team, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations are crucial. This role may also involve training and mentoring others and performing other duties as assigned.
