About The Position

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a Shop Service Tech to join its Service team. Shop Service Techs diagnose and repair various types of material handling and construction equipment at a local branch, returning equipment to operational and safety standards. They communicate with salespeople, coordinators, managers, and customers about potential downtime and job progress, and work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision to reduce equipment downtime.

Requirements

• At least one year of mechanical training, education, and/or experience in a related field.
• Possess or be able to obtain a complete line of tools.
• Above-average communication skills.
• Ability to obtain equipment operator certifications.
• Ability to read schematics or be trained to read them.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and driving record check.

Nice To Haves

• General knowledge of operating various equipment.
• Ability to accomplish duties accurately and on time.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair material handling and construction equipment at the local branch.
• Return each unit to operational and safety standards.
• Communicate possible downtime and job progress updates to salespeople, coordinators, managers, and customers.
• Work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining safe working standards and decreasing equipment downtime.
