Shop Mechanic
About The Position
Pape’ Machinery, Inc.’s Agriculture & Turf Division is seeking a Shop Mechanic to work on all makes and models of agricultural equipment in the shop. The role ensures repairs are completed accurately and on time to support customers and maximize equipment uptime. The mechanic diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures, repairs or rebuilds a range of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air-system components, and assists with pre-delivery setup and installation of John Deere equipment and allied products. Pape’ provides training, resources, and support for professional growth.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of small engines and agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
- Team-oriented, with the focus and drive to work without direct supervision.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Must provide own tools.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and diagnose malfunctions or failures in agricultural equipment.
- Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, air systems, and related components.
- Assist with pre-delivery setup and installation for John Deere equipment and allied products.
- Complete equipment repairs accurately and in a timely manner.
