About The Position
Pape’ Machinery, Inc.’s Agriculture & Turf Division is seeking a Shop Mechanic for its Walla Walla, Washington location. The mechanic works in the shop on all makes and models of agricultural equipment, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and on time to support customers and maximize equipment uptime. The role involves diagnosing equipment malfunctions and failures, then repairing, replacing, or rebuilding engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems. The mechanic also assists with pre-delivery setup and installation on John Deere equipment and allied products. Pape’ provides training, mentoring, resources, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of working knowledge of small engines and agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
- Team-oriented personality and the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Must provide own tools.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and diagnose agricultural equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems.
- Assist with pre-delivery setup and installation on John Deere equipment and allied products.
- Complete equipment repairs accurately and in a timely manner to support customers and maximize uptime.
