About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop team and oversee daily operations. Experience is valued but not required; the company provides paid training in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. Managers are expected to learn and uphold Take 5 standards, with responsibility for their team’s execution within 60 days. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities; the posting also advertises earnings up to $55,000+ per year. The position combines people leadership and administrative work with hands-on shop and automotive service duties. Shop Managers recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate crew members; schedule shifts and submit payroll; manage inventory and product orders; use shop financial information and budgets to drive results; support crew members with service work; and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions when necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand the shop’s financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with oil changes and other automotive services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
