About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; the company offers paid training in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services. The role may be a fit for candidates with leadership experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses, and opportunities are also available to join as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training.

Within less than 60 days, the manager is expected to be accountable for the crew’s execution of Take 5 service standards. The role combines recruiting and developing employees, scheduling and payroll, inventory and ordering, financial oversight, customer service, and hands-on automotive service work. Experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities.

Requirements

• Basic computer operating skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.

• Shop management or other leadership experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
• Understand the shop’s financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure the crew executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services.
