About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and oversee its team and operations. The company values experience but does not require it, and provides paid training in its management standards, oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services. Within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the team's execution of those standards. The role includes recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training crew members; scheduling and payroll; inventory management and ordering; understanding shop financials and using the budget wisely; conducting quarterly employee evaluations; supporting crew members with shop duties; performing oil changes and other auto services; and providing excellent customer service. Managers may earn up to $55,000 or more per year, including base salary and bonus opportunities. The position requires physical shop work, reliable transportation, basic computer skills, and willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience managing or leading teams is valued but not required; no oil-change experience is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory by conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand the shop's financials to drive results and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
