About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and ensure the team delivers the company’s standards for oil changes and other light maintenance services. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided on managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and performing other light maintenance. Managers may become accountable for team execution of these standards in less than 60 days. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 or more with base salary and bonus opportunities. The listed annual compensation range is $43,800 to $72,200; base pay may vary based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and supplemental pay may include commissions or bonuses. The position is located in Ohio.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions when necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Management or leadership experience is valued but not required; experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses may be relevant.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Manage inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventories.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
