About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and ensure the team delivers the company’s standards for oil changes and other light maintenance services. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, tire inflation, and other services. The role may be suitable for experienced managers or candidates who want to join as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training. Within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the team’s execution of Take 5 standards.

The position includes recruiting and training crew members, creating schedules, submitting payroll, managing inventory and product orders, understanding shop financials and budgets, conducting employee evaluations, assisting the crew with automotive services, and providing excellent customer service. Managers may earn $55,000 or more annually through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role can involve working up to 55 hours per week on occasion and in hot or cold weather conditions.

Requirements

• Basic computer operating skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position yourself safely under cars.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing a shop or leading teams in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses; experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
• Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
