About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead shop operations and provide excellent customer service. Paid training is available, and prior experience is valued but not required. The company trains employees to manage a shop, change oil, replace wiper blades and air filters, fill tires, and perform other light maintenance services. Motivated employees can advance through the company; more than 90% of Shop Managers started as Crew Members or Assistant Shop Managers.

The role offers hourly compensation, with the posting listing a range of $15.25–$21.00. Base pay may vary by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience; supplemental pay may include commissions or bonuses. Requirements

• Be willing to learn, work hard, and bring a positive attitude.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
• Be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions when necessary.
• Have reliable transportation to and from the shop.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience is valued but not required; experience in customer service, restaurants, mechanics, retail, landscaping, or other skilled trades may be relevant.
• Leadership ability and a customer-service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed.
• Assume the Shop Manager’s responsibilities and authority when the Shop Manager is absent.
• Run the shop floor, ensuring employees are in position, vehicle checks are completed, and customers are satisfied before leaving.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.
• Train new employees to perform their duties according to Take 5 procedures.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as needed.
• Restock and maintain floor inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness in the shop, office, and bathroom.
