About The Position

The Shop Helper supports the Service Department by helping keep shop operations running smoothly. The role focuses on maintaining shop cleanliness, delivering parts to technicians, assisting with work that improves technician efficiency, and interacting with customers courteously. The Shop Helper also participates in learning opportunities, assists technicians to gain hands-on experience, and moves trucks into and out of the shop as directed. The position is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and works Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Other duties may be assigned to support the business.

Requirements

General mechanical knowledge or aptitude is required.
A valid driver’s license is required.
A CDL is required, or the ability to obtain one.
Ability to drive a forklift.
Curiosity, strong integrity, a pioneering spirit, and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Ability to meet the role’s physical and mental demands, including standing and walking continuously, lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, grasping and fine manipulation, working near moving mechanical equipment, using air tools and basic hand tools, wearing safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes, and talking or hearing.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of the shop.
Deliver parts to shop technicians efficiently.
Interact with customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
Assist with tasks that improve technician proficiency and efficiency.
Participate in learning modules and other learning opportunities.
Assist other technicians and learn through hands-on experience.
Pull trucks into and out of the shop as directed.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to cultivate positive customer experiences.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
