About The Position

HindlePower has been designing and manufacturing industrial (non-commercial) battery chargers and dc power systems for the utility industry for over 35 years. Our products serve power generation and distribution, substations, switchgear OEMs, oil and gas, and transportation maintenance facilities. Our sheet metal shop makes the enclosures, brackets, frames, and panels for everything we build. This is a hands-on job that moves around the shop. You will work alongside experienced people in different departments, and no two days look exactly the same. If you want to learn how metal fabrication actually works, this is a good place to start, because you will see most of it.

Requirements

Dependable and on time
Willing to learn and to move between departments as the work shifts
Attention to detail
Able to work well with people
Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds
On your feet for most of the shift, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Work around shop equipment and material handling in a manufacturing environment
Safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe footwear are required on the floor

Previous manufacturing or shop experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Help out across the shop wherever the work is
Assist with press brakes, shears, and other shop equipment, and learn to run them over time
Grind, deburr, and finish metal parts
Help in the paint department with prep and hanging parts
Load, unload, and move material through the shop
Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
Follow our safety procedures, and speak up when something does not look right
