About The Position
The Shop Assistant supports daily shop operations by preparing materials, assisting with CNC production, maintaining an efficient workflow, and contributing to a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a shop, construction, manufacturing, or similar environment and is comfortable working with tools, machinery, and materials. This position offers the opportunity to further develop technical skills while contributing to the production of high-quality projects.
Requirements
- Physically capable of handling materials and working in an active manufacturing environment
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage tasks independently
- Manual dexterity to operate a variety of tools on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and move around the fabrication shop for work shifts
- Ability to work in a workshop with exposure to dust, chemicals, and noise using required PPE, as needed
- Ability to move and carry materials up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, construction, fabrication, or similar hands-on environment preferred
- Previous experience with hand and power tools preferred
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred, or willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and stage materials for CNC processing and fabrication activities
- Assist CNC operators and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the shop and yard
- Use hand tools and basic power tools to support fabrication, assembly, and general shop activities
- Perform accurate material measurements, cutting, and preparation tasks as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and yard environment
- Support inventory management, including organizing materials, tools, and supplies
- Complete other shop-related tasks and responsibilities as required
