About The Position
As a Shipyard Welding/Mechanic Trainee, you will play a crucial role in our shipyard operations, supporting the repair and maintenance of our marine vessels and barges. This position offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a hands-on environment under the guidance of experienced employees to continue to develop your skills.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of welding and mechanical principles.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Nice To Haves
- Technical/vocational training in welding or mechanics is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist welders and mechanics in daily operations, including preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on our marine vessels including maintenance on diesel engines.
- Support the team in adhering to safety and quality standards in all operations.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Help in the set-up and breakdown of project sites, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
