About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mechanic Trainee in its Aggregates line of business. The trainee assists with maintenance and repair of aggregate plant and mobile equipment while learning preventive maintenance and troubleshooting practices. The role supports experienced mechanics with mechanical, hydraulic, and conveyor system repairs and includes hands-on technical training. Work is primarily in environments with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. Successful candidates must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial equipment maintenance.
• Ability to learn troubleshooting and repair techniques in a hands-on environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and following established procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of aggregate plant and mobile equipment.
• Learn preventive maintenance practices to support safe and reliable operations.
• Support experienced mechanics with mechanical, hydraulic, and conveyor system repairs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow safety procedures while participating in hands-on technical training and development.
