About The Position

Hutco Inc. is accepting applications for Laborers at a shipyard in Hahnville, Louisiana. This is long-term work, and many hours are available. No TWIC card is required, and per diem is not available. Pay is $17.00 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Load vehicles using a hand truck or dolly.
• Wash trucks and other vehicles.
• Clean ships, piers, drydocks, and other work areas using a broom and water hose.
• Open shipping crates using a hammer and pinch bar.
• Sort lumber, metals, and other scrap materials.
• Collect and burn trash.
• Mix and pour cement on ships’ inner bottoms and around deck joints to prepare surfaces for tile or make joints watertight.
• Remove paint and scale from ships’ metal surfaces using hand or powered wire brushes.
• Convey materials and tools to the work site.
