Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Shipyard Safety Inspector, also known as a Health and Safety Inspector, to provide daily health and safety oversight for Navy and commercial ship repair operations. The role works with minimal supervision to inspect work areas, identify hazards, and drive corrective action through production supervision. The inspector serves as a hands-on safety resource for crafts and subcontractors. This is a contract role with potential for long-term or permanent placement based on performance and client need. The work involves daily entry into confined spaces, climbing ladders, working at heights, and walking scaffolding aboard vessels under repair. Up to 90% of work time is spent outdoors in a shipyard in all weather, with moderate to extreme noise for much of the day. Occasional exposure to vapors, gases, dust, welding fumes, and smoke is expected; respiratory protection may be required depending on the task or location, and PPE is required under site safety policies. The role may require up to 30% travel, including international travel. Schedules may vary with production needs, and reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard locations.
