Shipping Team Member Night Shift
About The Position
As a member of the warehouse team, the Shipping Team Member helps deliver specialty food products to customers. In a fast-paced, physically active environment, the role involves receiving and organizing incoming inventory, fulfilling orders, and preparing products for delivery. The position is based at GFI Lakeland in Lakeland, Florida, and is full-time on a Sunday-through-Thursday overnight schedule, from 6:00 PM until work is finished. The work includes exposure to refrigerated and freezer environments ranging from 0 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit, and requires prolonged standing, reaching, bending, and handling loads. The role also requires the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 30 pounds of force.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments ranging from 0 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to ascend and descend a step that is 10 inches high.
- Ability to stand for long periods and to reach and bend.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and work under minimal supervision.
- Availability to work Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 PM until finished.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse and/or cold storage experience.
- Experience using an RF handheld device.
- Pallet jack and forklift experience.
Responsibilities
- Unload, receive, and put away incoming inventory.
- Use an RF handheld device to scan, pull, and pack items to fulfill orders.
- View prompts on screens and follow directions for assigned tasks.
- Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets for delivery.
- Organize and stage orders for pickup by delivery drivers.
