About The Position

The purpose of this position is to coordinate all Logistics for H-E Parts Dom-Ex, including domestic and international shipments. This role also involves assisting with purchasing as needed. Every employee at H-E Parts International is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, prioritizing safety above all other responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years logistics experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Internet.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Manage logistics for inbound and outbound shipments via Fed-Ex, UPS, XPO, flatbeds, ocean containers, etc., comparing rates for the best shipping options.
  • Prepare bills of lading for outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Handle export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, and NAFTAS, and work directly with customs brokers and forwarders.
  • Update and maintain Customs files with current Customers Broker information.
  • Maintain current HTS Codes for exporting and importing.
  • Update shipping logs daily with estimated delivery times and shipping charges.
  • Verify credit cards and/or accounts are current before a shipment leaves the facility.
  • Verify the accuracy of all deliveries.
  • Meet with logistics companies to negotiate better discounts and discuss service updates.
  • Provide detailed reports for customers, specifically for container shipments to overseas customers.
  • Generate purchase orders for inventory buys, brokerage sales, and shop usage (without decision-making authority).
  • Process packing slips for sales orders every morning for inventory relief.
  • Complete the annual Heavy Vehicle Tax Return for vehicles 55,000+.
  • File Unified Carrier Registration with the State of Minnesota.
  • Schedule medical exams for CDL drivers (DOT physicals).
  • Manage DOT inspection renewals.
  • Handle licensing of DOT vehicles, including special permits (e.g., over width).
