This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC. Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one-year related experience
  • Ability to adapt schedule to meet customer shipping/production schedules
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound carrier and shipment decisions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of customer specifications and process all information to described specifications
  • Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals including customers, carriers, outside freight forwarders, production, customer service, quality, and materials/planning
  • Ability to work safely and within the established safe work practices, policies, and procedures of the Arden plant
  • Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, related software includes SAP, Word, and Excel
  • Strong keyboarding and scanning skills
  • Strong operating forklift experience and skills
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Good math and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of shipping, packaging, labelling and trucking concepts
  • SAP shipping/receiving functions preferred
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

  • Associate’s degree / or two or more years related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work from computer skids, purchase orders, and packing lists to create material labels, packing slips, bills of lading and perform transfers
  • Unload trucks and receive incoming material, check vendor packing list with items received and verify accuracy of items with purchase orders.
  • Enter part numbers, weights and quantities of parts received and located into stock along with order discrepancies and damages on packing list.
  • Move incoming materials to appropriate work centers and audit incoming material for count accuracy.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, pull items from bin locations and staging area, place in cartons and palletize as necessary, attach shipping labels, prepare bills of lading, contact carrier for pick up and load trucks.
  • Enter part number, number of pieces and destination into computer system and print out shipping documents adding text, special instructions or special charges where applicable.
  • Post SAP transaction for material movement related activities: receiving, locations transfers, shipping
  • Perform duties to maintain inventory levels through monitoring usage and levels of parts to stock.
  • Ensure accuracy of order and completion of purchase order terms to satisfy customer requests.
  • Correct purchase orders as necessary to reflect actual items or quantities received.
  • Update and maintain item master database, enter changes, additions and deletions.
  • Update inventory records to reflect stock removed as scrapped or rejected parts or stock returns.
  • Perform inventory cycle count duties as required and participate in scheduled plant inventories as assigned.
  • Check material handling equipment for proper fluid levels and report operating problems to Supervisor.
  • Follow safety rules.
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
