About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk accurately packages products according to customer specifications for shipment, while meeting on-time delivery, productivity, safety, quality, and housekeeping metrics. The role handles shipping and receiving activities, supports material handling and production-floor needs, and helps maintain equipment and work areas. The position also includes responsibilities described under ITW Leadership Expectations, such as understanding customer requirements, delivering business results, facilitating communication and issue resolution, and supporting talent development.

Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Shipping experience required.
Computer skills.
Ability to focus and prioritize tasks and objectives.
Good communication skills.
Ability to lift or pull up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Load and unload truck shipments.
Ship and receive material according to ITW Dahti work instructions.
Accurately operate scales to weigh parts.
Operate a label computer and printer to print barcodes and other labels for job traveler identification as needed.
Notify a supervisor of wrong parts, mixed parts, or part shortages.
Operate a tape machine, tape gun, or stapler to assemble and close shipping boxes.
Keep label printers clean and maintained.
Keep work areas, aisles, and areas around bins clean and free of parts on the floor.
Count and verify outgoing outside-processing orders.
Participate in quarterly inventory.
Provide material handler and production-floor support.
Oversee and maintain the daily checklist for proper forklift operation.
Understand customer-specific requirements and identify personnel and technical resources needed to provide on-time, high-quality service and delivery.
Forecast and deliver monthly financial performance metrics related to revenue, labor, and costs in support of annual plan objectives.
Lead and facilitate customer-facing communication and proactively direct issue resolution in collaboration with sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality, outside vendors, and other stakeholders.
Champion the ITW Leadership Development framework; source, develop, and retain a diverse talent pipeline and identify potential future leaders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
