The Shipping & Receiving Clerk provides service and assistance supporting facility and customer operations. The role performs manual and clerical work related to receiving, stocking, and shipping a wide variety of supplies and equipment. Duties include receiving, unpacking, stocking, and delivering supplies, packages, mail, and equipment, as well as coordinating shipments to other client sites. The clerk operates warehouse and material-handling equipment, including lifts, motorized pallet jacks, scales, hand trucks, and dollies, and operates a 40-foot box truck for local trips between mills and the warehouse. The position also handles shipment checks, inventory and tagging, records and paperwork, discrepancy resolution, vendor returns, and communication with departmental personnel, vendors, and delivery drivers. Other duties may be assigned, and overnight travel may occur. The work may involve moving mechanical parts, elevated locations, outdoor conditions, extreme temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, electrical-shock risk, and vibration. The schedule may be affected by production and downtime, and flexibility with non-customary schedules and weekend work is expected. The role requires movement around commercial properties and construction sites, sometimes through tight passageways and corridors, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds often.
