About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk supports day-to-day warehouse operations in an industrial pump and equipment environment. The role involves receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, organizing inventory, pulling parts and equipment for shop jobs and customer orders, and preparing outgoing shipments. The position regularly uses forklifts, RF scanners, and ERP software to track inventory, process shipments, and maintain warehouse organization.

Detroit Pump has served municipal and industrial customers throughout Michigan since 1926 and is part of Tencarva, a distributor and OEM-authorized service network in the pump and process equipment industry. The company provides equipment distribution, applications engineering, repair, field service, custom fabrication, automation and controls, and other services supporting several critical industries.

Requirements

• Forklift experience is required.
• Ability to stay organized and work accurately in a fast-paced warehouse or shop environment.
• Comfortable lifting and moving industrial parts and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, truck drivers, and customers.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience is preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems, RF scanners, or warehouse inventory software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments using RF scanners and ERP software.
• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Organize inventory, parts, and work-in-progress materials throughout the warehouse.
• Pull parts and equipment for shop jobs and customer orders.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
• Package, palletize, and prepare outgoing shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping documentation.
• Assist customers and delivery drivers with pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment.
• Coordinate internally with shop, service, and operations teams as needed.
