About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk supports day-to-day warehouse operations in an industrial pump and equipment environment. The role receives incoming shipments, organizes inventory, pulls parts and equipment for shop jobs and customer orders, and prepares outgoing shipments. It regularly uses forklifts, RF scanners, and ERP software to track inventory, process shipments, and maintain warehouse organization.

Detroit Pump serves municipal and industrial customers throughout Michigan and is part of Tencarva, a distributor and OEM-authorized service network for pump and process equipment. Its services include equipment distribution, applications engineering, OEM-authorized repair, field service, custom fabrication, and automation and controls.

Requirements

• Forklift experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to stay organized and work accurately in a fast-paced warehouse or shop environment.
• Comfort with lifting and moving industrial parts and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy.
• Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, truck drivers, and customers.

Nice To Haves

• Prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience is preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems, RF scanners, or warehouse inventory software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments using RF scanners and ERP software.
• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Organize inventory, parts, and work-in-progress materials throughout the warehouse.
• Pull parts and equipment for shop jobs and customer orders.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
• Package, palletize, and prepare outgoing shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping documentation.
• Assist customers and delivery drivers with pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment.
• Coordinate internally with shop, service, and operations teams as needed.
