Shipping & Receiving Associate
About The Position
Value Added Distributors is hiring a full-time Shipping & Receiving Associate to support the daily movement of inventory, shipments, and customer orders. The role involves order picking, preparing shipping documents, coordinating shipments with carriers, receiving and verifying incoming materials, maintaining inventory records, performing cycle counts, inspecting products for damage, entering transactions into the ERP system, and organizing inventory locations. The associate communicates with purchasing and customer service teams, operates a forklift after training, makes local customer deliveries using a flatbed truck, and may assist in other areas through cross-training. The position pays $17.00 per hour and follows a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and accuracy.
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to use and read tape measures and digital calipers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous working knowledge of hydraulic components.
- Experience in supply chain or logistics.
- Forklift certification.
Responsibilities
