About The Position

Safely operates a forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written orders. The role includes moving products to outgoing staging areas, checking pulled items for accuracy, preparing loads for shipment, maintaining order records, and keeping warehouse and surrounding areas clean and orderly. The employee may also perform duties as a Warehouse General Forklift Operator and Warehouse Rework Laborer upon occasion, and other work as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

High school education; additional training preferred.
Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English for job tasks.
Certified forklift operator.
Ability to stoop, bend, and carry approximately 60 pounds for some tasks.
Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
Eye, hand, and foot coordination to operate a forklift.

Additional training beyond high school is preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete the pre-operational checklist before operating the lift each day.
Report forklift damage or malfunction to a supervisor.
Operate the forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed while watching for pedestrians and other motorized vehicles.
Use a forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written orders.
Pull and stack cases by hand as needed.
Select finished goods according to the established code-date plan and accurately record code dates on bills of lading.
Transport items to the outgoing staging area.
Check orders against pulled items to ensure accuracy.
Ensure staged loads are clean and wrapped for shipment.
Maintain accurate records of orders picked.
Operate a pallet inverter and shrink-wrap machine.
Use a forklift to unload finished goods moving between warehouses.
Clean warehouse floors, trailers, loading docks, and exterior areas around the warehouse.
Keep the warehouse clean and orderly.
Follow safety rules and company policies.
Perform duties of a Warehouse General Forklift Operator and Warehouse Rework Laborer upon occasion.
Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
Carry out written or verbal instructions from the supervisor and perform other work as directed.
