About The Position

The Shipping Order Puller safely operates a forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written orders. The role also involves preparing, checking, recording, and staging shipments; moving finished goods between warehouses; operating related warehouse equipment; and maintaining clean and orderly warehouse and surrounding areas. The position may occasionally perform duties of a Warehouse General Forklift Operator and Warehouse Rework Laborer.

Requirements

• High school education; additional training preferred.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English for job tasks.
• Certified forklift operator.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and carry approximately 60 pounds for some job tasks.
• Visual acuity sufficient to operate motor vehicles.
• Eye, hand, and foot coordination sufficient to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Complete the pre-operational checklist before operating the forklift and report any forklift damage or malfunction to a supervisor.
• Operate the forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed while watching for pedestrians and other motorized vehicles.
• Use a forklift and computerized scanning equipment to select and gather finished goods according to written orders.
• Pull and stack cases by hand as needed and select finished goods according to the established code-date plan.
• Accurately record code dates on bills of lading and maintain accurate records of orders picked.
• Transport items to the outgoing staging area, check orders against the items pulled, and ensure staged loads are clean and wrapped for shipment.
• Operate a pallet inverter and shrink-wrap machine.
• Use a forklift to unload finished goods being moved between warehouses.
• Clean warehouse floors, trailers, loading docks, and exterior areas around the warehouse, keeping the warehouse clean and orderly.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Occasionally perform duties of a Warehouse General Forklift Operator and Warehouse Rework Laborer.
• Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
• Follow written or verbal supervisor instructions and perform other work as directed.
