About The Position

The Shipping I position performs shipping department activities in accordance with standard operating procedures, MPS, and company philosophy. The employee verifies that loads are complete according to documentation, placed on the correct delivery vehicle in the proper order, and secured to minimize damage and breakage. The role also involves creating and executing MPS objectives, meeting MPS commitments, reflecting Milgard business values, following safety procedures, and using personal protective equipment. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work is performed in a warehouse facility under normal environmental temperature conditions. Employees stand for up to 12 hours per day on primarily concrete surfaces; anti-fatigue mats are provided where feasible. Hearing protection and safety glasses are required, with additional safety equipment provided according to the specific job.

The schedule is Monday through Friday with a 5:00 AM start time. Mandatory overtime may be required as business needs require. Compensation is $21.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Sufficient literacy to read and understand window labels and route codes.
• Ability to use a handheld scanning unit.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to count to 500.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to discern colors.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in and promote a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse experience, particularly in window manufacturing, is preferred.
• Glass handling experience and/or glass knowledge is a plus.
