About The Position

The Shipping Specialist I supports the preparation and confirmation of inbound and outbound logistics, including raw material, direct material, MRO, and ATF/NFA-controlled product. The role maintains detailed documentation, interacts with carriers, and helps ensure inventory accuracy within the department. This position works the weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and reports to the Manager, Shipping & Receiving.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to ITAR regulations.
• Be efficient with computers and programs, including Excel and Word.
• Be able to communicate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds on occasion.
• Be able to stand, walk, sit, and bend constantly throughout the workday.
• Be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including in and around moving parts, chemicals, and lights or lasers.
• Be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Be capable of operating a forklift.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, logistics, or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Ensure order accuracy and proper documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments, including physical packaging and physical or electronic documentation.
• Verify that shipment quantities and addresses are correct.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Complete the necessary documentation and handling for outside-process (toll) components.
• Use shipping system software and the ERP system to complete shipping and receiving tasks.
• Communicate effectively with peers, leaders, and support functions.
• Collaborate with other departments on shipping and receiving needs.
• Complete cycle count activities and help resolve MRP inventory accuracy issues.
• Apply critical thinking to solve problems efficiently.
• Multitask consistently and efficiently across shipping systems.
• Answer the phone and monitor the gate as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
