About The Position
Gerber Childrenswear LLC is seeking equipment operators to join its team in Summerville, South Carolina. The company markets infant and toddler apparel and related products, with a focus on quality, everyday comfort, safety, sustainability, and community. The Equipment Operator safely and efficiently operates Cherry Pickers and Reach Operators to support shipping and facility operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- One year of experience as an equipment operator.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to safely operate equipment in unique situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, reach, push, and pull, and to lift 50 pounds or more.
Responsibilities
- Obtain load sheets or shipping orders and transport pallets to and from designated areas in the facility.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload freight safely and effectively.
- Stack goods in the correct storage area.
- Check that loads are secure.
- Stack empty pallets.
- Perform daily equipment checklists.
- Ensure orders contain the correct product and count.
- Ensure each pallet is secure for transit and labeled correctly.
- Consolidate rows and pallets for staging and shipping.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
