Under the direction of Plant Manager, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for efficiently managing the dispatching process and maintaining seamless communication with Truck Drivers, encompassing South Holland's drivers and third-party common carriers. Your efforts are essential in ensuring we meet our customers' precise pickup and delivery requirements, contributing to our overall customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing office environment, focusing on shipping logistics and standard office practices.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Efficiently prioritize and schedule a high volume of work, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Comprehensive understanding of shipping practices.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, enabling effective verbal and written communication with various stakeholders.
  • Mechanical Aptitude and basic skills.
  • Ability to follow protocol.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree in business or a related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the dispatching process and maintain seamless communication with Truck Drivers.
  • Ensure customers' precise pickup and delivery requirements are met.
  • Prepare shipping documentation: Packing Slips, Bills of Lading (B/L), and tags.
  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor the status of shipments proactively.
  • Process new orders.
  • Create customer and material numbers.
  • Track purchase orders.
  • Set up and maintain new files for invoices.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of office supplies.
  • Assist in conducting credit checks as needed.
