About The Position

Packaging Corporation of America is hiring a Shipping Clerk at its Gallatin, Tennessee location. The role supports the shipment of finished goods and the receipt of goods and supplies used in production and storage. The clerk coordinates pickups with carriers specified on customer purchase orders, moves stock to and from trucks, stores warehouse stock for efficient retrieval, and may make supplier pickups and deliveries using a company van. The position works the third shift, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Shipping Clerk.
• Qualified to operate a forklift.
• Ability to operate a lift truck and prior attendance at a driver's safety course.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Previous experience in the corrugated industry.

Responsibilities

• Arrange pickups with the carrier specified on customer purchase orders.
• Transfer stock to and from trucks and load and unload stock.
• Store units of stock in an orderly manner to expedite retrieval.
• Support shipment of produced goods and receipt of goods and supplies used for production and storage.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment and follow safety regulations.
• Make supplier pickups and deliveries of parts and raw materials using a company van.
• Understand and follow factory card instructions.
• Operate equipment correctly, including wrapping equipment when necessary.
• Document materials loaded onto and removed from trucks.
• Manage shipping orders, forms, inventory tags, and counts for received or shipped materials.
• Assist forklift operators with balancing workload, organizing warehouses, and general cleaning.
• Report missing, broken, bent, or worn parts to a supervisor or maintenance.
• Complete forklift inspection forms before the shift and when operating a new forklift.
• Submit maintenance work orders to supervision for required repairs.
