About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory control activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods. This position supervises shipping and receiving personnel, coordinates daily warehouse operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures customer orders are fulfilled on time and in accordance with company standards. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor plays a key leadership role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment, and supporting production and customer service objectives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory management roles.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, RF scanners, and inventory management software.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and hold employees accountable.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 55 pounds safely and in accordance with proper lifting techniques.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial warehouse environment with exposure to hot, cold, dusty, and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate LP-powered forklifts and other material-handling equipment in compliance with company training and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrates consistent attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory, shipping documentation, and product labeling.
  • Maintains a safety-first mindset, following all safety policies and proactively identifying and reporting hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory activities to ensure efficient operations and timely order fulfillment.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop Shipping and Receiving team members while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Schedule and assign work to ensure adequate staffing and efficient workflow while meeting production and customer delivery requirements.
  • Oversee the accurate receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipment of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded using RF scanners, ERP systems, and warehouse management processes.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and routine audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, working directly with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, documentation requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain an organized warehouse layout that promotes safety, efficiency, and proper inventory management.
  • Monitor warehouse performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, inventory control, and service levels.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment while enforcing all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety observations, address hazards promptly, and support ongoing safety training initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Leadership teams to support operational goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory planning, equipment maintenance coordination, and warehouse process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
