About The Position

As the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at Groundworks, you will oversee and coordinate all shipping, receiving, and warehousing operations to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely movement of materials and finished products. You will lead a team responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting Groundworks’ mission to deliver high-quality foundation repair and water management solutions with unmatched customer service and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory control software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Forklift certification and knowledge of safety standards (e.g., WHMIS) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the shipping and receiving team, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming shipments against purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Oversee the preparation, staging, and loading of outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation (e.g., bills of lading, work orders).
  • Determine optimal shipping methods and coordinate with carriers for pick-up and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment data including weights, charges, damages, and discrepancies for reporting and accounting purposes.
  • Monitor and manage warehouse layout and space utilization to optimize storage and prevent damage.
  • Conduct light quality control checks to ensure products are routed correctly and meet company standards.
  • Collaborate with production, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless flow of materials and timely delivery.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counts and physical inventories, to maintain accuracy.
  • Ensure all team members receive appropriate training and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping and receiving processes.
  • Prepare and manage shipping department budgets and report on operational performance to management.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
