About The Position

Southeast Texas HR is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for a manufacturing facility in Beaumont, Texas. The role supervises the shipping and receiving department to maximize quality, safety, productivity, and profitability. The supervisor makes day-to-day departmental decisions guided by policies, procedures, the business plan, and thorough knowledge of department processes. This person serves as the point of contact for issues escalated by support staff, sets team priorities, contributes to developing processes and procedures, and ensures employees follow those guidelines. The role typically spends no more than 20% of the time performing the work being supervised.

The schedule is 5 to 7 days per week, with 12-hour days. Pay is $22 or more per hour, depending on experience. This is a temp-to-hire position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five to seven years of lead-level experience in a shipping or supply chain environment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment requirements, including a drug test.
• Must have lace-up steel-toed boots; other personal protective equipment will be provided.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be allowed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day shipping and receiving department, including hiring and training personnel.
• Supervise incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure customer delivery schedules are met; communicate turnaround times to customers and assist with questions or escalated matters.
• Perform or assist the team with more difficult skilled tasks or problem areas as needed.
• Assist the manager with implementing corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Set team priorities, resolve issues escalated by support staff, contribute to developing processes and procedures, and ensure employees follow established guidelines.
