The Night Shift Shipping and Receiving Lead directs the night loading crew and serves as the primary after-hours contact for dock and transportation issues. The role ensures merchandise, loads, equipment, and vehicles are prepared for safe, accurate, and on-time transportation. The primary deliverable is ensuring every scheduled truck is accurately loaded, secured, equipped, fueled, inspected, and ready to depart on time, with unresolved issues communicated to leadership. The Lead assigns and prioritizes crew workflows, monitors productivity and safety, and provides real-time guidance on loading standards. Responsibilities also include verifying merchandise quality and order accuracy; pulling and staging bulk inventory; overseeing shipping, receiving, and dock operations; responding to after-hours transportation and fleet issues; inspecting vehicles and coordinating maintenance; and maintaining dock safety and housekeeping. At the end of the shift, the Lead provides day management and Dispatch with a detailed handoff covering completed loads, outstanding orders, shortages, vehicle service updates, and driver incidents. Success is measured by on-time departures with verified loads, prevention of loading-related transit damage, trucks that are fueled, inspected, staged, and equipped, a clean and hazard-free dock, crew compliance with material-handling safety, accurate shift handoffs, and prompt resolution of after-hours driver issues. Pay is $23 per hour. Health, dental, vision, and 401(k) eligibility begin after 60 days. The role also offers 96 hours of annual PTO, prorated based on hire date, team member rental discounts, and a referral program.
