Shipping and Receiving Lead
About The Position
The Warehouse & Shipping Lead manages all aspects of Dahlquist Machine’s finished goods warehouse. The role ensures accurate job closure, inventory control, packaging, labeling, and shipping of customer orders, and includes staging and coordinating shipments and receiving for outside processing. Through careful attention to detail and ERP accuracy, the lead helps ensure the correct parts and quantities reach customers with complete documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, experienced in warehouse and shipping functions, and committed to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse, shipping, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely operate material handling equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across departments.
- Commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with ERP systems; Syteline experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Verify finished job quantities and close jobs in the ERP system.
- Perform finished goods cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized and accurate warehouse layout and improve storage and flow.
- Box, package, and label finished goods before storage or shipment.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging and labeling requirements.
- Stage and prepare shipments for customers and outside processing vendors.
- Ship jobs through the ERP system and generate necessary paperwork and labels.
- Perform ERP receiving transactions for raw materials, outside processing, and services; physically check in outside processing receipts and perform some physical receiving for raw materials and services as required.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule and track shipments, including using UPS WorldShip.
- Perform other warehouse duties as required, including part marking, washing, and general finished goods support.
- Process jobs accurately in the ERP system to ensure real-time visibility of finished goods.
- Maintain internal paperwork for job closure, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Communicate shipment status clearly to production, quality, and customer service.
