About The Position

AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, is seeking a full-time Shipping and Packaging Level 1 employee in Valencia, California. Under direct supervision, this role performs basic shipping and packaging work, including loading and unloading trucks, checking packing slips and order contents, visually inspecting products, and packaging products for outside processing or as finished goods. Packaging tasks include protecting parts, verifying packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, and weighing. Employees are forklift certified and may use basic computer skills to support inventory and tracking.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
0–1 year of experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Work safely according to functional safety guidelines, including PPE requirements and safe equipment interaction.
Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure finished goods to verify them against work orders or other records.
Determine shipment and packaging methods.
Pull, pack, weigh, and label products based on daily orders.
Affix labels to packed cartons or stencil identifying information on cartons.
Insert items into containers.
Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and have appropriate documentation.
Process appropriate shipping documentation.
Maintain inventory of shipping and packaging materials and supplies.
Operate a forklift, tier lift truck, or hand truck to move cartons and pallets from packaging areas to storage or work areas.
Enter data into the computer system for inventory records and tracking.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
