About The Position

The Shipper/Receiver receives product for processing, moves product through the facility during processing, and loads finished product onto trailers for return to customers. The role reports to a supervisory or managerial staff member within the facility. It involves receiving and verifying customer product, recording relevant information, moving product with a forklift, coordinating sample shipments, and preparing and loading finished product for shipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must be willing to work established shifts.
• Should be proficient using a computer and able to analyze data in a database or spreadsheet.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of previous warehouse experience.
• Six months to one year of forklift operating experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming unprocessed product, verify customer counts and lot numbers, note any damage, and enter information into the computer system.
• Use a forklift to unload palletized product from trucks; for floor-loaded shipments, remove cartons individually, place them on pallets, and move them to unprocessed storage.
• Move product by forklift to and from various facility areas for processing.
• Remove samples from customer product and coordinate shipment of samples.
• Shrink-wrap palletized finished product when needed.
• Contact trucking companies and schedule pickup of finished product when needed.
• Load palletized product onto trailers using a forklift.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Complete all required training for a Shipping/Receiving Operator as outlined in the training manual.
