About The Position

The Shipper/Receiver reports to a supervisory or managerial staff member within the facility. This role receives products for processing, moves products through the facility during processing, and loads finished products onto trailers for return to customers. The position also involves checking incoming shipments, recording information in a computer system, coordinating sample shipments, and supporting other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must be willing to work established shifts.
• Should be proficient using a computer and able to analyze data in a database or spreadsheet.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time.
• Must complete all required training for a “Shipping/Receiving Operator” outlined in the training manual.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of previous warehouse experience.
• Six months to one year of experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming unprocessed product, verify customer counts and lot numbers, note damage, and enter information into the computer system.
• Use a forklift to unload palletized product from trucks; for floor-loaded shipments, remove cartons individually, place them on pallets, and move them to unprocessed storage.
• Move products by forklift to and from facility areas for processing.
• Remove samples from customer products and coordinate shipment of the samples.
• Shrink-wrap palletized finished product for return to the customer, when needed.
• Contact trucking companies and schedule pickup of finished product, when needed.
• Load palletized product onto trailers using a forklift.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
