About The Position

HUTCO, INC. is hiring a 1st Class Shipfitter in Tampa, Florida. The role lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, including plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within a ship’s hull for welding. The listed pay rate is $29.00 per hour, with $120.00 daily per diem for those who qualify. Applicants must be able to work all shifts. Hutco, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a 1st Class Shipfitter.
• Outfitting experience.
• Knowledge of ship terminology.
• Ability to read blueprints to lay out and fabricate parts for ships.
• Ability to burn and bevel with a hand torch.
• Must pass a fillet weld test using 7018 rods.
• Must pass a drug test and E-Verify.
• Must be able to work all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Brace fabricated parts in position within the hull of a ship for welding.
