Shift Supervisor (Full Time)
About The Position
Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a full-time Shift Supervisor at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. The role directs associates’ activities during an assigned shift and ensures assigned job expectations are completed while company policies and procedures are maintained. The supervisor provides training, creates work schedules, evaluates employee performance, and prepares production or sales reports for management. The position also supports quality, productivity, and safety expectations and serves as a contact for employee complaints and time-off requests. The supervisor may mentor employees and encourage their professional development. Pay is $25.00–$28.00 per hour. Days and hours may vary; further schedule details are provided during the interview.
Requirements
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Direct associates’ activities during an assigned shift and oversee completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policies and procedures.
- Provide training and create work schedules.
- Evaluate workers’ performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who do not meet reasonable work-performance standards.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management.
- Ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Serve as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
- Mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and pursue advancement within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
