About The Position

Riceland Foods is a farmer-owned cooperative that has provided rice since 1921. The Shift Supervisor supervises crews carrying out assigned work in line with departmental quality, safety, production, and sanitation goals. The regular schedule is 12-hour shifts, either 7 p.m.–7 a.m. or 7 a.m.–7 p.m., on a four-on/four-off rotation that includes weekends. The current schedule is five eight-hour days per week; if sales increase, the role may move to a four-on/four-off night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school and/or additional college courses, plus two years of related experience or training; alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 7–11 months of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews in performing assigned tasks in accordance with departmental quality, safety, production, and sanitation goals.
• Verify compliance with product specifications, safety rules, company policies, and HACCP guidelines.
• Oversee operator maintenance, inventory control, and required documentation to minimize waste and downtime.
• Supervise employee attendance and compliance with work rules.
• Evaluate employee performance and recommend or administer disciplinary actions when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
