About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is a frontline leader supporting the daily operation and business success of Meow Wolf’s retail department. Reporting to the Retail Manager, the role supervises retail team members and may serve as Manager on Duty, providing visible onsite leadership across departments. The supervisor helps maintain safety, operational flow, a high-quality guest experience, and the company’s values while supporting profitability and revenue goals. This full-time, onsite position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and requires a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role includes supervisory duties, frontline retail coverage, inventory and point-of-sale support, staff coaching and training, and responding to operational issues and guest escalations. The work is primarily indoors in an environment that may include noise, dim lighting, strobing lights, special effects, fog machines, and small or enclosed spaces.

Requirements

1–2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a high-traffic, retail or guest-facing environment.
Strong communication, de-escalation, and leadership skills.
Ability to remain calm, prioritize tasks, and lead by example in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.
Proficiency with, or willingness to learn, point-of-sale and scheduling platforms.
Must be at least 21 and able to obtain or maintain any local licensing required for alcohol service, such as TIPS or Food Handler certification.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to walk, stand, use stairs, slides, and elevators, and navigate the environment during the day and night.
Ability to remain seated or standing for prolonged periods and perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, or fingers.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Compliance with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not available.

CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Support daily retail operations, including opening and closing, attendance and staffing monitoring, restocking, inventory control, loss prevention, policy enforcement, and task assignment.
Serve as Manager on Duty, providing visible supervision and supporting safety, operational flow, and a high-quality guest experience throughout the exhibition.
Coach team members on the floor and issue corrective actions.
Support team members, promote teamwork and accountability, and provide guest-first service.
Respond to operational issues, guest escalations, and minor emergencies; escalate when appropriate and handle sensitive matters discreetly and confidentially.
Monitor and adjust hourly labor usage, staff breaks, shift transitions, and coverage in line with staffing plans and guest volume.
Oversee exhibit readiness, cleanliness, lighting, sound, and general functionality.
Assist with retail coverage and sales as needed.
Support back-of-house retail operations, including shipping and invoicing guest orders.
Receive, unload, stock, and manage inventory.
Enforce point-of-sale procedures and assist with end-of-day reporting and reconciliation.
Document and communicate shift updates, incidents, and operational issues to the Retail Manager.
Foster cross-department collaboration and uphold Meow Wolf’s culture of belonging, creativity, and safety.
Lead staff training, onboarding, and mentoring in accordance with department SOPs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
