About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production operations during their assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met. This role involves leading and motivating associates, managing production processes, handling emergency situations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The supervisor reports to the Lead Supervisor and is accountable for the shift's production quality and cost, managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet company objectives.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership, and customers.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip).
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Three-dimensional vision: Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with manufacturing software.
  • FORKLIFT OPERATION (Certification Required).
  • Operates forklifts, as needed, to support Production.
  • Knowledge of company background and policy, processing of produce, safety requirements, and any necessary knowledge.
  • Knowledge of 5S and how it applies to specific work areas.
  • Understanding of equipment and electric appliance's mechanical structures and operating principles.
  • Ability to remember and understand the <Material and Safety of processing menu book>.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work the 3rd Shift (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-shift meetings.
  • Overseeing the assembly process of finished products.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to personnel and motivating associates to reach production goals.
  • Creating and maintaining a grid whiteboard and providing direction to associates.
  • Oversight of glass auditing and Plex entry.
  • Organizing and planning production based on production orders and submitting daily production reports.
  • Ensuring shift production quality and cost targets are met, and managing each KPI.
  • Implementing pre-shift meeting regulations and reporting production, quality, and work regulation issues.
  • Solving production issues and organizing personnel to resolve problems.
  • Coordinating work and assisting the financial and statistic departments with plant stock taking and bonus management.
  • Supervising the preparation of each position before production, monitoring work regulations, quality, and safety.
  • Ensuring operators work according to 3 operation instructions.
  • Implementing initial training, formal training, and multi-position training, with follow-up evaluations.
  • Collecting shift production data, analyzing shift production and quality status, and reporting to the Lead Supervisor.
  • Managing the 5 Star Kanban and conducting TPM activities in the workshop.
  • Implementing 5S and visionary management on-site, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring items are in their positions.
  • Following instructions in the emergency plan in case of an emergency.
  • Managing quality documents and records, and supervising equipment and tools in the plant.
  • Double-checking the accuracy of production report preparation and importing data into the system.
  • Ensuring responsible warehouse materials quantities match system records.
  • Identifying workplace environment factors, hazard resources, and control methods.
  • Strictly implementing the regulations of the comprehensive management system, including completing daily safety checklists.
  • Managing the sorting and storage of waste.
  • Assisting with other matters as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
