About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production operations during their shift, focusing on safety, product quality, and productivity. This role involves conducting pre-shift meetings, providing guidance and leadership to associates, maintaining production records, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The supervisor will also handle emergency situations, manage personnel, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and TPM.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods.
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
  • Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software
  • FORKLIFT OPERATION (Certification Required)
  • Operates forklifts, as needed, to support Production
  • Knowledge of 5S and how it applies to specific work area
  • Knowledge of equipment and electric appliance's mechanical structures and operating principles

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-shift meetings
  • Overseeing the assembly process of finished products
  • Providing guidance and leadership to personnel and motivating associates
  • Maintaining grid whiteboard and directing associates
  • Overseeing glass auditing and Plex entry
  • Handling emergency issues such as 4M changes, equipment breakdowns, and production problems
  • Organizing and planning production based on production orders
  • Reporting on shift production daily
  • Ensuring shift production quality and cost targets are met
  • Managing and controlling KPIs
  • Reporting production, quality, and work regulation issues
  • Solving production issues and organizing personnel to resolve problems
  • Coordinating work and assisting financial and statistic departments with plant stock taking and bonus management
  • Supervising the preparation of each position before production
  • Monitoring work regulations, quality, and safety
  • Ensuring operators work according to operational instructions
  • Implementing initial training, formal training, and multi-position training, including evaluation follow-up
  • Collecting and analyzing shift production data and quality status, reporting to the Lead Supervisor
  • Managing 5 Star Kanban and conducting TPM activities
  • Implementing 5S and visionary management on-site
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment and ensuring items are in their positions
  • Following emergency plan instructions in case of emergency
  • Managing quality documents and records
  • Managing and supervising equipment and tools in the plant
  • Double-checking the accuracy of production reports and importing them into the system
  • Ensuring responsible warehouse material quantities match system records
  • Identifying workplace environment factors, hazard resources, and control methods
  • Implementing regulations of the comprehensive management system, including daily safety checklists
  • Managing the sorting and storage of waste
  • Assisting with other matters as assigned
