About The Position
The Shift Manager is a frontline restaurant leader responsible for delivering great service and excellent operations during a shift. The role leads the team in meeting Shakey’s Signature Service standards while supporting opening and closing duties, cash handling, delivery receiving, food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with labor laws and company safety procedures. Shift Managers coach, train, motivate, and delegate to team members, support front- and back-of-house stations as needed, and help create a positive environment for guests and employees. The role is full-time, hourly, and non-exempt, with weekends required. Compensation includes a base hourly rate and monthly bonus potential.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of restaurant leadership experience.
- Strong communication skills and a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to coach, train, and give constructive feedback.
- Reliable and organized, with the ability to lead by example.
- Ability to thrive in a busy, team-focused environment.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Food Handler card and RBS certification.
- Availability to work weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Quick-service restaurant or fast-casual leadership experience.
- Spanish language skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and ensure Shakey’s Signature Service standards are met.
- Support opening and closing duties, including cash handling and receiving deliveries.
- Coach, train, and motivate team members throughout the shift.
- Delegate tasks and ensure the team is prepared for the day.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards.
- Check food quality and temperature to meet regulatory and company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Support front-of-house and back-of-house stations as needed.
- Create a positive, energetic environment for guests and team members.
