About The Position

The Shift Leader assists the Assistant Manager and General Manager with management activities and duties, ensuring that operations are consistent with and support the restaurant’s business plan. The Shift Leader ensures Team Members perform their responsibilities and meet the expectations outlined in their job descriptions. The role focuses on delivering outstanding hospitality, maintaining quality, service, cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and security standards, and organizing and supervising restaurant operations during the shift. The Shift Leader also supports staffing and labor management, training and directing Team Members, and efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
Must have reliable transportation and a method of communication with the restaurant, such as a phone or email.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure hospitality is outstanding by anticipating and exceeding guest needs and handling situations and requests promptly and positively.
Monitor all aspects of restaurant operations, anticipate problems, and take initiative to correct problem areas.
Consistently enforce and maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
Monitor and maintain proper staffing levels and labor costs.
Create a friendly atmosphere for Team Members and guests.
Train, direct, and supervise Team Members effectively.
Support efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs.
Plan, organize, and implement operational routines and activities during the shift.
Maintain a cooperative and harmonious working relationship with management and fellow Team Members.
Ensure sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures are observed and enforced.
Meet company standards for personal appearance and display professionalism.
Follow HR, sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures to provide a safe and compliant environment.
Perform other tasks as directed by management.
