Shift Manager Electrical
About The Position
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance at Hibbing Taconite in Hibbing, MN. As a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance, you will direct and coordinate the electrical/instrumentation maintenance programs associated with the plant equipment, facilities and power distribution systems. This will include direct supervision and leadership of the E&I maintenance work force toward the implementation and compliance to preventative, planned, and/or break in work schedules. They will ensure the reliability of the electrical equipment through preventative maintenance and directing maintenance personnel as needed in response to breakdowns.
Requirements
- 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.
- Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies.
- Ability to motivate, delegate, establish, and work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
- Schedules routine activities.
- Supervises completion of work assignments and follows established department plans
- Maintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production, safety and quality objectives.
- Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules and practices
- Coordinates electrical maintenance activities with different departments, assists in developing continuous improvement plans
- Leads employees' training and performance review programs.
- Improves overall production, processes and services efficiency
- Verify parts, tools and equipment availability to ensure efficient work execution
- Ensure work order discipline is adhered to and work completion documentation is kept
- Continuously improve E&I department by identifying deficiencies and taking appropriate actions to rectify
- Communicate job assignments, timing expectations, and associated tasks to all crew members
- Oversee E&I contractors involved in maintenance activities and projects
- Other duties as assigned
