About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance at Hibbing Taconite in Hibbing, MN. As a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance, you will direct and coordinate the electrical/instrumentation maintenance programs associated with the plant equipment, facilities and power distribution systems. This will include direct supervision and leadership of the E&I maintenance work force toward the implementation and compliance to preventative, planned, and/or break in work schedules. They will ensure the reliability of the electrical equipment through preventative maintenance and directing maintenance personnel as needed in response to breakdowns.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.
  • Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies.
  • Ability to motivate, delegate, establish, and work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules routine activities.
  • Supervises completion of work assignments and follows established department plans
  • Maintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production, safety and quality objectives.
  • Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules and practices
  • Coordinates electrical maintenance activities with different departments, assists in developing continuous improvement plans
  • Leads employees' training and performance review programs.
  • Improves overall production, processes and services efficiency
  • Verify parts, tools and equipment availability to ensure efficient work execution
  • Ensure work order discipline is adhered to and work completion documentation is kept
  • Continuously improve E&I department by identifying deficiencies and taking appropriate actions to rectify
  • Communicate job assignments, timing expectations, and associated tasks to all crew members
  • Oversee E&I contractors involved in maintenance activities and projects
  • Other duties as assigned
